Shooting Positions - some illustrations.

A modified prone position. Quicker to get in and out of. Potential use from behind cover (e.g., coming in low after having already come in high).

An option for shooting, using vehicle as cover.

Example of one method of grounded shooting. Always be careful of bullet bounce (e.g., bullets fired at you and hitting a hard surface will tend to follow the surface). See Bullet Reflection / Bullet Bounce.

An example of using secondary weapon. In this illustration, the primary weapon is empty and/or suffered a failure. Primary weapon is placed in a strong side close retention position, and secondary weapon is drawn from holster on off side.

When able, primary weapon is holstered. Then conduct safe hand change so that your secondary weapon is now in the primary weapon hand.

Reverse Retention: See Reverse Retention Ready Position

Body to Body contact shooting - Close Quarters.

One Handed Shooting.
